About Us

Who we are

The Canadian Federation of University Women is a non-profit. non-partisan, secular organization of women committed to the championing of women's education and human rights. Founded in 1960, we welcome anyone supporting the objectives and purpose of the organization. The Scarborough Club is part of the National CFUW and is also a member of the Ontario Council. 

Consider becoming part of a group of like-minded women who, through monthly meetings, social activities, and community outreach make lasting friendships.

Our mission

 As part of a national and international organization, our mission is to:


  • Pursue knowledge 

  • Promote education through scholarship program

  • Improve the status of women and human rights 

  • Participate actively in public affairs. 

Our values

We are active in promoting women's rights and education in Scarborough. Our priorities include: 

  • The promotion of education to influence and benefit society 

  • The right of women and girls to education to achieve their full potential 

  • The recognition and protection of human rights 

  • The promotion of peace, justice and equality 

  • The development of international understanding, co-operation and friendship.
